Frequent Asked Questions On Our Pool Tile Cleaning

Does your process prevent calcium from returning?

No, unfortunately not, calcium is a natural buildup that can be caused by many uncontrollable external factors, mostly by hard mineralized water sources.

How often should I have this process done?

It can be done as often as you like. Calcium buildup can occur faster in some geographical areas than others and personal preferences may vary.

How long does the tile cleaning process take?

It varies from 3-8 hours depending on size of pool and scope of work needing done.

Do you use chemicals? Is it safe for my kids and pets?

No, we do not use any chemicals that will harm the environment or your pool water. Our process utilizes glass micro spheres to remove the calcium.  Because of the equipment used to complete the process, we do ask that people and pets stay out of the pool area during the blasting process.

Does my pool have to be drained?

No, unless you are resurfacing or cleaning the surface (shell) of the pool. We only have to drain enough water to expose approximately 2-3 inches below the surface (tile and/or rock) for the initial cleaning. Because of our cleanup process, your water level will lower an additional 3-4 inches totaling a water loss of 6-8 inches on average.

How soon will I be able to get into my pool?

A general rule of thumb is 24-36 hours to allow for refilling and chemistry balance.

Why does my pool look murky or cloudy after the cleaning process?

Discolored, cloudy or murky water may not occur with every cleaning we perform, however, it is possible. The cloudy water is caused by the bead blasting process when the dust particles from the blasting tend to float on the surface because the particles are lighter in density than the water. Running your pool filtration system after refilling for 8-10 hours typically clears the water up and does not harm your pool system.
